We finally started our 2010 eventing season at Northallerton (our local event) its so nice to have it back in the schedule.
Maude was rather excited to be out again on grass (1st time since Aldon in October) so the dressage was not great. As always she showed her funny side by attempting to gallop off in the canter which left me giggling through the rest of the test.
Showjumping was interesting in the warm up where she managed to show her full scope by taking off a good few strides away from the fence, however she went in and did a very neat clear round and made it feel very easy.
Going to cross country I was feeling rather unprepaired after not been cross country since Aldon so I was not sure what to expect. But once again she pulled it out of the bag and steered me around the course no problems. We took the long route at the water as i felt she was moving far too fast for PN level but other than that it was a perfect round.
Finished and found out i had got a 38.5 Dressage which i finished on and had the 5th Fastest XC round of the Day - good job we took a slow route at the water!! Eventually came 16th out of 54 with only 2 marks off a placing so a rather chuffed ELC :)
And good news we have been accepted in the Novice at Richmond for Saturday so fingers crossed for another good day
