Christmas presents…… The good and the bad.

Firstly I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas Day, got lots of fantastic presents, ate too much, drank too much and enjoyed some Boxing day racing thanks to Long Run!

Firstly the bad present courtesy from Shelley.

I was working Christmas morning so I was really looking forward to a relaxing evening. Shelley however had different ideas. After a run about in the arena she came in with a sliced chest with no clues on how she managed to do so available to the human eye!

So after a little trip to get fixed (Why is it my animals seem to choose days when its twice as expensive to go and get fixed). After a little help she was back home enjoying her Equibright bed and one of her Christmas gifts from Likit; whilst playing the invalid card.

After a few glasses of bubbly we moved on to the better gifts. I can now rival most cosmetic stores with the amount of makeup, perfume and smellies I’ve amassed. My music collection has now been well and truly updated and my cookery skills will definitely be put to the test in the new year.

I did however, manage to get one fantastic equine related gift…….

A brand new Samshield custom riding hat. It really is lovely and I feel very spoilt.

Mr ’s present has been delayed as he was due to be jumped for the first time since the BE80 Championships. But after fully disgracing himself that day with uncalled for movements, he’s now on a hard core flat work regime for another week!

But as not to finish my post on a downer……..My supporters Horsey Hoodies sent an unexpected package through the post which we received today.

This bag will certainly be used next year, hopefully at a three day!

You can’t stop the weather but you can stop the boredom!

Well I was hoping that my next post would have been of our success at a recent Dressage competition. However, for what seems like the millionth time this season I find myself saying the British weather has affected our plans. However, this time its due to the snow and ice which has meant that we’ve been unable to ride for a few days, meaning its unfair to ask the horse to perform a decent test.

It’s also meant that they’ve been stuck indoors most of the time, and therefore slightly bored. This however, has provided a great opportunity for them to test the new Christmas Likit flavours out!

We gave Shelley the Candy Cane Likit (650g) to try. Now Shelley has never been a greedy horse, except when it comes to mints where she’s an official Mintaholic. So Candy Cane seemed a perfect fit. On first inspection it definitely smelt of peppermint. We placed it in her stable, she went over to inspect it and then didn’t appear to leave it, although surprisingly she just stood licking it and didn’t attempt to bite it!

For Harley we decided to test him on Gingerbread and got him a Little Likit so as to place it in his Tongue Twister as this is the most challenging holder for an experienced Likit loving horse like himself! Now the gingerbread Likit had a lot to live up to as last years Butterscotch is officially Harley’s favourite Likit. My initial reaction to the smell was sweet pepper. When Harley discovered it he gave it a few snorts after each sniff but soon enough he was happily playing away.

And after 3 days and 3 nights the verdict is in…………….

Another huge success and two very happy horses!

Likit have also released Cinnamon as part of their new Winter flavours, and of course the good old favourites are still available including our horse’s preferred choices…. Mint, Cherry and Apple.

So if your still on the look out for a good Christmas gift for your horse, you probably can’t go wrong with a Likit!
