It was a two day course with fabulous training opportunities from Kenneth Clawson and Charlotte Ridley which covered everything including flat work exercises, grid work, show jumping, cross country and a dressage test. It was also a great social event which included gaining gossip from the two royal weddings!
I really think Harley gained so much out of this experience, Charlotte hadn’t seen him since our 1st BE80T and agreed he had matured so much and agreed that he probably won’t fully mature until he’s 8 as he still has lots of development to achieve. However, he held his own especially in the cross country phase with Kenneth where conditions were defiantly less than ideal (think Monsoon!) where he never put a foot wrong despite being in a group more advanced (BE100 level) than himself – in fact I think we were the only ones not to have any run outs!
I did however get to ride in my Stickhedz Skull polo shirt which got some great comments - it's so unique but also great quality so i'm already a big fan! You can buy Stickhedz clothing alog with other great brands such as Fal and Schockemohle from www.thehorsewardrobe.co.uk
I’m very grateful to Charlotte for running this event and I’ve already booked my spot for 2012!
2 weeks later and further good news came my way via EHOA. I applied for a training award via EHOA in June, there were 11 awards on offer and I have received the fabulous news that this year I have been awarded one! Thanks to the EHOA training award I will be given £200 in training vouchers which can be used with a variety of trainers or at a EHOA camp, a body warmer and rug sponsored by Shearwater insurance and the opportunity to attend a Pre-season training award winners camp at the start of 2012. I’m really very grateful for this opportunity and will help us tremendously over the winter months!
If your not a EHOA member yet I really would urge you to join, not only for the great training opportunities but they always have hospitality tents at the countries leading events which can be great especially if the English Weather takes a turn for the worst! Check out www.ehoa.org for more info.
Shelley did manage to worry us all last week, she became very ill over night and we feared the worst but luckily it appears she’s back to her cheeky diva-self! Shelley is also very grateful to Likit for their support after I told them about the brilliant benefits we have once again had with their line of products especially when Shelley was very ill! Likit very kindly sent a whole pack of Likit bars for Shelley and Mr Harley is most jealous! Luckily Shelley is happy to share (well sometimes!) www.likit.co.uk
As for now Harley is on a 3 week holiday as I’m (hopefully) jetting off across the pond next week for two weeks. Sadly this means we will miss a few events but hopefully we will get a few runs at the end of the season.
