Never tell a horse that they are going on holiday soon....

Because otherwise they'll do something to themselves so that they can start their holidays earlier than planned!
Que Mr H, who was due to be at Norton Disney BE on Saturday:

Luckily its only gravel (Although I'm rather sick of foot issues this year but grateful its nothing worse!). But to add insult to injury he also produced a fat leg (which was due to mud fever), the day we were contemplating trying to put the shoe back on.

However, H is very happy as this extended holiday means he's been tucked up on a warm Equibright bed and he's had much more time for the thing he loves doing the most........................

Yup Eating!
He's especially chuffed that he's had extra time with his Likit Tongue Twister and Snak-A-Ball!

As you can probably see from the pictures too, poulticing the foot also creates a great excuse for H to have a mini fashion show in colored foot wear!

However, on a serious note, once again I've been amazed at how calm H has been whilst being on box rest when all the other horses are out in the fields and can honestly only put that down to EquiFeast's Winning Edge.

And I've also been happy that I've had more time to use Naf Profeet Rock Hard on his hind feet, which will hopefully see the benefits next season.

But in the mean time if anyone has any suggestions or recommendations on lotions and potions for treating Mud Fever I'd be very grateful and the market has so many now that I'm not too sure where to start?

Try Mud Stop by Equitech - www.equitech.uk.com - small firm based in Berkshire - they also make hoof products although we have only used the Mud Stop which is brilliant. Some vets stock the products but if you ring them they will supply you direct if there is no stockist in your area.
