I warmed Maude up using different tactics - keeping away from the other horses to avoid her getting excited; it seemed to work until we went over to the white boards where she then tensed up. We finished the test but it wasn't our best so looks like its back to the drawing board for us Re-the Warm up. We got a 41 which wasn't too bad but rather annoyed as shes fully able to do better tests.
Onto the showjumping which was held in Richmond's large outdoor and was upto height. At first glance I was rather worried about the 3rd - a double of uprights and the length of the course as we have a tendency of getting faster and flatter!
Luckily we rode like Rachael had suggested and kept clear all bar the last where i pushed for the long one (Memo to self just wait!!!) totally my fault as didn't walk the course before and would have realised how wide it was but i just can't help myself i love flying with the beast!!!!
Onto the XC and what can i say she was a total dream i enjoyed every second of it! went all the direct routes and for the first time I pushed for the time which i knew would be tight they only negative would be that I wished there was some more difficult fences as she really could have done with being tested a bit more.
Found out we were 4 seconds over the time - slightly annoyed but it will come :) so finished on 46.6 and finished 13th sadly we were in the most competitive section in any others we would have easily been in the top ten but thats how it is sometimes.
For now Maude is having a few days holiday in the field whilst Im doing exams but will no doubt be back to work soon.
