As your all probably aware Harley has been on Equifeast’s amazing product Winning Edge and more recently started Optimax in conjunction with Winning Edge.
Optimax has already had a huge impact on Harley particularly in the Show jumping phase.
Our recent trip to the British Eventing 80T Championships showed how much he’s improved especially when you look back at how his round was at the Jump Training at the start of the year.
After having a chat with Equifeast we’ve discovered that Harley may in fact be getting too much magnesium/ over dosing through the combination of his feed and Winning Edge; which in return will create the total opposite effect to what we are trying to achieve.
I was slightly dubious about adapting things as I really feel his current feed is a great match for Harley as he’s looking the best he ever has which is great news heading towards winter and actually been behaving much better both at home and at competitions since being on this combination.
So when Equifeast suggested that we just change his regime slightly and try their Magnesium Free version of their fantastic ‘Brain Food’ product Winning Edge, we decided it was worth a shot as it still offers all the qualities of the standard Winning Edge just obviously without magnesium.
So today is the start of the experiment, it will take a while until we get a clearer view of how things are developing but I’ll make sure to keep you informed.
